Appearance
I am on the short side, even for Halflings. I am tanned from the time I spend in the monastery courtyard doing training exercises. My eyes are brown and I have shoulder-length sandy brown hair which I usually gathers into a bun at the base of my skull.
I have a jagged scar on my right cheek from where my master punished me for spilling his dinner when I was a child slave. I often rub the scar absentmindedly when I'm deep in thought or something is troubling me.

Personality Traits
I have a deep love of children and love to spend time with them, especially if I can show off or teach them something "cool."

Ideals
It is the duty of all civilized people to strengthen the bonds of community and the security of civilization.
I believe that all people should be free and that there will be no true peace or justice until all forms of slavery are abolished.
I believe in the principle of my order that states that to find the way forward, society must thoroughly understand its past.

Bonds
I am forever in debt to my mentor, who freed me from slavery when I was a young child.

Flaws
While normally cheerful and calm, I will fly into a murderous rage when I see a child mistreated.

Short Autobiography

I don't know much about my birth or early childhood. The only reason I knew my name was because Master Jensen found it written in the journal he took of my owner's body when he freed me. I do remember that my parents were very poor and were heavily in debt to a cruel human named Bjorg. When I was seven, Bjorg came with his hired men to burn my parents and I out of our home in retribution for not paying him back. To escape their fate, my parents offered to sell me as a slave to the man. As a result, I spent the next year of my life as his the vile man's personal slave. He often beat me for the slightest infraction of his strict rules and demands and barely fed me. I remember many nights trying to fall asleep as my stomach growled its dissatisfaction, praying that Bjorg's men -- who often found sport in tormenting me -- would not find me in whatever hiding spot I had managed to curl up in.

Around my eighth birthday, Bjorg was staying at an inn in Berdusk. As was his custom, Bjorg insisted that I see to his needs to myself rather than allowing the staff of the inn to do so. He took particular delight in showing off how subservient I was in the inn's common room, as well as humiliating me for the amusement of the other patrons.

One man, however, was not amused. He was an elderly monk and confronted Bjorg over his cruel treatment of me. The man immediately offered to buy my freedom, which outraged my owner, who was not prepared to let such a loyal and entertaining slave go. Bjorg drew his sword, but was no match for the monk, who slew the cruel man after entreating him to end the battle and free me several times.

The monk the turned to me and declared me free. He told me that I should stay with him for the night and then return to my home.  I told the monk that I honestly did not know where my home was anymore and that I am unsure my parents would want me anyway, as they were the ones who sold me into slavery in the first place. The monk nodded and said he would take me back to his monastery in the morning.

I learned that the monk's name was Master Jensen and I ended up staying with him for a month at the monastery of The Order of Historical Wisdom, before I decided to dedicate my life to the order as well. Master Jensen became my mentor and the primary monk responsible for my training over the next several years.

Now I am twenty one years old and have completed my initial training. The head of our order, High Master Cadman, has charged me with my first assignment.  I am to spend the next ten years of service traveling abroad -- with frequent visits to the monastery for further training and consultations -- seeking out new ancient texts and other historical artifacts to add to our order's great Library.  As I travel, I am also recording my own journeys and experiences, so they too might be added to the Library.
